Dear all,

I;m very much moved with the world’s worest cases of childen sexual abuse in Sudan and therefore I wouldlike to volunteer to partisipate in any actyivities may change this violance and to correct the situation and aware the civilians and help in improve the situation by helping the victomes, facilitate capturing the criminals and make it hard to even think about. I’m realy touched with the victomes stories and I offer my money and my soule to help them and the other children from being a victomes of such heart breaking crims.

Ambassador, that was an excellent speech. I think family violence is such an important subject and it has been great that Denmark has carried on after the British project finished. The police are often at the forefront of dealing with cases of family violence and sexual abuse so it is so important that they are well trained and sympathetic in their approach to these matters. And because of this unique and pioneering project here it has given a great opportunity for the word to be spread round the region.

Our police have served with the United Nations all over the world and some of them have had training in family protection and have brought their expertise to Sudan, East Timor, Bosnia, Haiti etc.

This is an excellent bond with an excellent group with achievable, sustainable goals. Denmark has chosen well in partnering with the Family Protection Unit.

“Violence in the family – and abuse – including sexual abuse of children and women – is a global problem.”

This quote is a miracle for me to hear. At a similar conference several years earlier, one of the final conclusions negated the positive impact of the project. It was: “child sexual abuse is a Western cultural import with no foundation in Eastern society”.

The darkness of denial perpetuates lies. When truth is brought to light, true progress can be made.
