About this Blog: Mostly it will be about issues I find relevant in a Jordanian-Danish context. Sometimes actualities not directly linked to the two countries will be discussed. Serious comments will be most appreciated and hopefully lead to a fruitful discussion among the readers and me as host of this Blog. The topics and themes I intend to introduce on the Blog is of my choice only – and unless otherwise stated – my personal opinion based on my experience as a Danish government official for many years. The Danish embassy opened its doors in September 2007, and since then its small dedicated staff and I have been working hard on establishing a widespread network of people and institutions. This blog is intended to be a part of this network.
A word on comments. Having readers and receiving comments are very much what this blog is all about. Comments are encouraged – as long as they are serious – or funny. Spam, racist comments and the like will be removed as soon as they are reported.
About myself: My name is Thomas Fouad Lund-Sørensen, 44 years. I am married to my beautiful Egyptian-Danish wife, and we have three young boys. I am the first Danish ambassador actually residing in the Kingdom of Jordan. Unfortunately not Arabic speaking myself, my wife with her Arabic mother tongue helps me get along. I consider myself open minded and I love a good discussion. Jordan and Amman in particular have been a very positive experience for us so far.
I can be reached by E-mail at tholun@um.dk

Why surprised? Thanks for your comment Jonathan. I was in HK on the Take-Over day i 1997. Great city you have – Went back in 2005 where much had changed. HK has something Amman lacks a lot and that I miss – the sea.
Best regards

Dear sir,
I was very pleased to come across your blog, after having read your answer regarding “corruption index” on the black-iris.
This is just an encouragement from my humble side to go on with your input regarding your stay in Jordan and how you see it from your perspective.
Best of luck,
